Horses

Horses are beatuiful animals and need to be well taken care of. Horses tend to live anywhere from 25 to 30 years old, but some live up to be 44! The point is that if you love and care for these animals they will love you back. There are over 300 breeds of horses, you can get books that name all breeds. The most popular horses are Quarter Horses, Thorughbreeds, Friesian, Tenesse walking horse, and Arabians. The horses that are popular sell very fast and for alot of money too. If you are looking to buy a horse here are some tips.

 Horse Care:

The foods that are best for a horse are Hey, Salt and Minerals, Grass, and Feed Pellets. But dont feed your horse more that 22 pounds for a full grown horse, but for a foal only 2 pounds. Feed your horse 2 to 3 times a day. Grooming is a big job the best tools are, Curry comb, Body brush, Hoof pic, Dandy brush, Mane and Tail comb, and a Sponge. Those were the basics. But there is one BIG thing you need, Ridding gear, Like a Helmate, Chaps, Gloves (optional), Boots, ridding pants, and a sweat shirt.

Training:

To train your horse you need a Halter, Lounge line, Long Whip, and a Horse! :p To start you need to put the halter on and the loung line. Then you go into the middle of the ring and with your long whip you lift it up and swing up then down to the ground. Your horses may not do it at first but keep trying. One your horse starts to walk then try to get him to do a trot he/she will most likely gallop, but just stop the horse buy slowly pulling and raping the lounge line into big circles and your horse should stop and come into the middle (if not keep trying).  Now try the proces again and keep doing it until your horse natrualy starts to trot, It is the same proces for cantering. There you go your horse is now trained to trot and canter. Puting the saddle on and bridle might be very HARD. But try to put the reins over the horses head and then slowly try to put the bridle on. The saddle will be tough but first put the saddle pad on the horse and get uses to the feel, and after about an hour try to put the saddle on if he/she spooks then try again.
